Applicants travelling into DRC via land border
When entering by land, applicant must provide a personal written itinerary showing a map with the route to be taken overland, details of transport or vehicle to be used for the journey, and signature of person who will be meeting at the border, at proposed date/time’. The itinerary must be taken to DGM when issuing Prise en Charge who will stamp the additional authorization.
Please note if visiting DR Congo for tourism and you are staying in a hotel, we recommend a reservation from an international hotel chain, as the embassy will not always accept visa applications from budget hotels as personal security cannot be guaranteed.

To apply for a travel visa to Democratic Republic of the Congo requires the following documents:

Original, signed Ireland passport. Passport valid for 180 days with 2x blank pages and minimum 1x additional blank page behind.

Passport Photo: 1 Include a passport style photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a surcharge associated with this service.

Proof of Address. The Applicant must provide a proof of their address in Ireland, in the form of a recent utility bill.

Itinerary. Copy of round trip
tickets or confirmed itinerary. e
Yellow Fever Vaccination. Copy of International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever.

Bank Statement. Copy of a recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds.

Employment Letter. An original letter from your employer/school (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that you will be returning to your current job. The Employment Letter must be addressed to Democratic Republic of the Congo High Commission If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. If you are retired please submit proof of your retirement fund.

Approval. An Engagement De Prise En Charge issued by the Direction Generale De Migration in DR Congo approving the visit.

Additional Documents for Children under 18. - Original Birth Certificate.
- Letter of Consent. An ORIGINAL consent letter signed by both parents / guardians, specifying who will be travelling with the child and authorizing the trip.
- Copies of both parents' passports.
